The concept and formulae of the Dermal Density Factor (DDF), were invented by Dr. David M. Vesco, M.D. in 1995, at his medical center in Calabasas, California. The concept and the theory were then put through extensive scientific research and testing. The first complete anti-aging system based on this concept called L’ACRIMA, was developed. The L’ACRIMA product line is an aesthetic version of a technique that has been clinically proven, both in vitro and in vivo, to improve dermal density and elasticity of the skin. The L’ACRIMA  products have also been dermatologically tested on humans, and It has not shown side effects, i.e., complications of allergic reactions.

The L’ACRIMA system uses a unique blend of antioxidants with a major emphasis on catechins (epigallocatechin gallate, EGCg. Epicatechins gallate ECg, etc.) perfect compounds for this system. This is because of their ability to inhibit the breakdown of the collagen,  caused by free radicals and other derivatives of the complex bio/electro chemistry of the skin. Coupled with its ability to crosslink with the collagen fibres, the catechins’ effect is to improve the density strength, and elasticity of the foundation of the skin (reticular dermis). Hence, it is an effective anti-wrinkling and anti-aging mediator (photodamage inhibitor), without causing ablations (peeling) or forced exfoliations, while helping the apoptosis occur on its natural course.

The DDF is a vehicular system for delivery of these compounds transdermally thus, achieving noticeable results within a short period of time. Providing optimal moisturizing  of the skin, the outward effects of the products  include smooth-textured surface and natural glow of the skin. The radiant result  is achieved by increasing the microcirculation in the dermal capillary system. The increased numbers of communicants supply more red blood cells that are reflecting the red colour back to the skin surface, while absorbing the rest of the colours of the spectrum. The increased density, elasticity and overall strength of the skin effectively makes DDF a natural substitute for botulinum toxins* or other neurotoxin injections or topical applications. These toxins despite being unnatural, can cause devastating side effects such as permanent eyelid paralyses, ‘mask face’ etc. The Dermal Density Factor  helps prevent fine lines induced by repeated facial movements without loss of natural expression.

The L'ACRIMA is the first effective catechin related product in the cosmetic industry utilizing four of all known catechins. It is a new scientific skincare breakthrough.
