American Catechin Research Institute (ACRI)

Institute’s Background

The American Catechin Research Institute & Laboratory (“ACRI” or “the Institute”) was created as a privately funded program of the Canyon Medical Center in California and it is now an independently owned company specializing in the research and development as well as manufacturing of scientific health products, pertaining to the utilization of catechins and other bioflavonoids. The Institute has a two-pronged structure - scientific research and business development departments. Its main brands include the L’ACRIMA Dermal Density Factor™, Prospera™, GallaPh™, Dr. Vesco MD Catechin Skincare™, Active EGCG™, EGCg Energy, YUVA Catechin Drink, Rhodichin™ and other lines of products. All products currently on the market are tested by an independent clinic under the American Academy of Dermatology (Essex Testing Clinic, Verona, N.J.) for safety and effectiveness and have shown excellent results. The ACRI’s current intellectual properties consists of several patent applications for formulae within the external and internal use of catechin active compounds – topical and ingestible compositions, trans-dermal delivery systems, oral and dental care, hair care, air filtration mechanisms and various bactericidal and bacteriostatic preparations of bioflavonoids (particularly catechins EC, ECg, EGC, EGCg, reservatol, etc.) in other industrial fields. The company’s own California based manufacturing plant comprises new equipment and facilities designed for high volume production and packaging, capable of filling 70,000 to 100,000 - 15ml to 400 ml containers per day. Endorsers and supporters of the Institute include Dr. Mildred S. Christian, Fellow ABT and Chair of the Argus Health Products, Dr. Alan  Hoberman, Diplomat of the American Board of Toxicology, Dr. Ronald W. Hart, Bureau Chief the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Dr. Hasan Mukhtar, Professor of Cancer Research, Director and Vice Chair for Research Department of Dermatology (University of Wisconsin). The Government industrial entities, Export Development and Business Development Canada, are the Instute’s endorsers since 2004. The ACRI is an active member of the Canadian Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association (CCTFA) and a proud sponsor of the Look Good Feel Better (LGFB) Foundation. The LGFB Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to help women living with cancer and it operates from over 100 locations throughout Canada.
